SETTING
The snow has fallen, blanketing the frigid walkways of Hakkaido. The busy sounds of carving accompanied by the unloading of thick blocks of ice has finally ceased. What lies before you is a mystical wonderland built by master carvers. Characters and structures created entirely from blocks of ice, an even so big a train ride is needed to visit all three sites. From anime characters to enormous foreign structures, the Sapporo Snow Festival has it all. Come night and the masterpieces greet you with multicolored lights gleaming from beneath their icey surface. What was once a daytime white wonderlans transforma into a nightime rainbow - it's almost as if the Northern Lights are mirrored beneath the ice itself. Need to warm up? Local Sapporo cuisine is showcased nearby; their ramen is famous nationwide, y'know.

" Every winter, about two million people come to Sapporo to see a large number of splendid snow statues and ice sculptures which line Odori Park, the grounds at Community Dome Tsudome, and the main street in Susukino. For seven days in February, these statues and sculptures (both large and small) turn Sapporo into a winter dreamland of crystal-like ice and white snow. "

Inside The Dome lies several famy attractions to allow the visitors to rest from the sightseeing. Hot refreshmemts gather a line for guests hoping to warm up from within, an ice slide offers an exhilirating experience for children and adults alike, and not to mention the live music performed by the nation's hottest idols themselves.
