Welcome to AKIBA IDOL PROJECT an animanga roleplay based in the city of Tokyo. The plot centers around the city's pop star industry, the media, and its not-so-ordinary citizens.
From New Year performances to traditional events, your character can partake in anything they please not just limited to the Tokyo celebrations. The days preceding Japanese New Years tend to be busy with cleaning cooking preparation - traditional meals include osechi, sticky rice cakes (mochi), and noodles. Families are encouraged to spend the holiday with each other with an end of the year party where postcards and letters are exchanged and children are given gifts of money. It is also customary to take a visit to local shrines where prayers are made and talismans are bought. As the clock strikes midnight on the 31st of December, Buddhist shrines nationwide ring their bells 108 times to cleanse the population of their sins. As the new year draws near, fireworks large and small are set off nationwide, commemorating the end of the year. The following morning, the Emperor makes a special appearance at his palace, waving to his crowd of citizens.
