MIHO
I'm nowhere near the person I dream of being. It's going to take a lot of time and work. But with everybody's support I can become that person and make everyone even happier.

ESSENTIALS
PERSONALITY Miho has an upbeat, perky disposition that can be endearing or irritatingly sweet depending on your tolerance for such things. Not uncommonly Miho will remain optimistic about something long after everyone else has written it off as a lost cause. This is because s/he firmly believes that any good idea is worth believing in until the very end. As a girl, Miho likes to be around people to the point that being alone makes him uncomfortable and nervous. Though Miho is always somewhat nervous around men, he seems perfectly fine performing for them. More than that he seems to revel in it, smiling brightly, dancing and singing with just a bit more energy than rehearsals would indicate he has. The fans are what will help him become what he dreams of being, so nothing is too much for their sake.
No matter how busy Miho gets he always makes time to listen to his friends' problems or just talk with them, especially other members of the group. This is with the qualification that the conversation doesn't linger on himself too long. Due to the nature of what he's doing too many questions could well result in his inability to achieve his dream of becoming a girl idol. When complimented he's prone to blushes, fidgets and nervous laughs. Criticism drives him to try and fix the problem to the point that he can easily overwork himself.
As a boy Miho lacks the confidence and perkiness of his idol self. Being so small makes him an easy target for bullies at his all boys' high school, and he tends to keep to himself. He's much more soft spoken, even more nervous around men and prefers to be on his own. While he remains optimistic about things in any form, he's much less likely to discuss his feelings when he's not his idol self. Really, he's embarrassed about who he is in regular life. Once he gets dressed up as a girl, though, he's quite personable and more fun to be around.
HISTORY Born and known to his family as Minoru, he originally grew up in Kyoto. His home life was fairly normal for the most part, with dad off working out of town and his mother working with relatives in a kimino shop. Minoru was the only child in the home and thus spent a lot of time with the parent who was home more often. From an early age he didn't seem terribly interested in the things that other boys spent their time on. In fact his few friends were all girls, with whom he enjoyed playing dress up. Rather than find a problem with this his mother encouraged his interests in girls' clothing, singing and dancing as soon as she learned about it. She would even acquire girls' kimono and yukata for him to wear during festivals. Things were good for Minoru.
When his father eventually discovered what was going on, including that his son was taking dancing and singing lessons, he freaked out. No son of his was going to be that way. All of Minoru's favorite clothes were tossed out. Lessons were cancelled and Mr. Hidaka talked of putting his son into an all-boys school to straighten him out. It was difficult for the boy to argue with a father who made his living as an officer in the JSDF and commanded such an imposing figure. Minoru was about to give in to all his father's demands when his mom put her foot down. After a nasty legal battle Mrs. Hidaka got a divorce and custody of her son. Through contacts she transferred to another kimono store in Tokyo, where she works to this day.
Out of fear that his father would find out about resumed crossdressing, Minoru was enrolled in an all-boys high school as a cover. At home he's been allowed to continue dressing up to his heart's content. Around the same time as the move to Tokyo Minoru started listening to idol group music, particularly Afternoon Delight. He found it empowering and started to dream of getting up on stage himself as a young lady. His childhood lessons in singing and dancing meant that he was ahead of the game in terms of talent development. Being very underdeveloped as a boy his voice is still indistinguishable from that of a girl his age. All of this has led him to feel that he must become a girl somehow. Becoming an idol - a feminine role model no less - quickly became his obsession, and somehow he's managed to get his foot in the door. Albeit under the pseudonym of 'Miho' (a name he prefers to Minoru due to it being cuter).
APPEARANCE Miho's stature is fairly small thanks to a fluke of genetics. He has a petite body which though obviously flat chested is much better suited to a girl than a teenage boy. In girl mode he does just a little bit of stuffing to make his chest not look quite as flat, as if that will give away the whole secret. The complexion of his skin is a traditionally ladylike pale one that has been fostered over the years by lack of excessive outdoor activity and treatments of various sorts. This lends itself well to the illusion, as does chest length black hair which is usually allowed to hang loose over his shoulders. Miho's eyes are gray in tone and can look slightly blue under the right lighting. There's almost always a little bit of makeup being worn to cover up slight imperfections that only Miho would consider detrimental; he also is known to really like experimenting with nail polish and lip gloss.
COMMON WEAR When not on stage Miho prefers clothing that would be best described as girly. Frilly and lacey skirts and blouses are common, sometimes accompanied by matching sweaters and tights. Miho categorically refuses to wear pants unless absolutely necessary since they are to him a much more masculine thing than he'd want to wear. Depending on the occasion he'll also be happy to wear Loli fashion or a nice kimono with floral themes being favorites. Given a choice he'll also avoid wearing anything too tight fitting since it could give away his gender and ruin his dreams. Sometimes he'll take friends' suggestions on what to wear and put that on instead. At school he'll wear a boy's uniform, though it comes off as soon as he gets home.
OTHER FEATURES Thankfully Miho doesn't have very much body hair despite being a guy. What little there is resides on his legs and is mercilessly removed whenever it grows out just enough to be visible. Is a fan of hair pins and will try to incorporate them into an outfit when possible.

OTHER INFORMATION
TALENTS & SKILLS Earlier childhood training helped Miho develop a strong singing voice and some skill at dancing, though not dancing of the variety idol singers typically perform. He learned more traditional Japanese dance and specialized in womens' dances; popular dancing is something he's still working on. Miho's voice is probably his best asset, clear and with fairly good range while still sounding completely feminine. There is some speculation as to whether he's already hit his ceiling with vocals however. He's also well accustomed to relating to fans, always happy to answer questions, sign autographs and pose for pictures. If there's some way to go an extra mile for a fan you can rest assured that Miho will do his best to find and do it.
Miho also is a big fan of the venerable Sakura Taisen series and owns copies of all its games, plus several albums from live shows. He's secretly taught himself the lyrics to most of the more famous songs from the franchise. Thanks to his mother Miho also has extensive knowledge about kimono, how to wear them and fabrics used in their construction.
DISCOVERY Being an idol had become a major goal of Miho's, so it wasn't by accident that he found out about a singing contest being held near his family's apartment. It was actually part of the promotion for a newly released video game. Miho's confidence got a major boost when he blew the scarce competition out of the water to win a limited edition copy of the game. There also happened to be a representative of Little Sheep passing by who invited Miho to the company's offices. Not too long after that Miho was signed on as a member of sheeP.
ETCETERA Miho takes a roundabout way to get home from school just to make sure nobody figures out that he's actually dressing up like a girl and singing. Likewise he gets off a station early to go home from events where he's a girl so that he can avoid attracting attention. At school he wears his hair in a tight ponytail to keep it out of the way as much as to keep up appearances.
