PERSONALITY: As this is reality and fabrications are a dime a dozen, Soushi makes it a point to be the pillar of honesty in an otherwise amoral world. And the one unshakable truth that he has to impart is the only one that will ever truly mean anything. He doesn’t like you. He doesn’t necessarily hate you, he simply isn’t the one who’s going to care about your eleven cats or compliment the new up-do you’re trying to rock at the office. He’s just not that into you or anyone for that matter. Pleasantries will be exchanged; contact will be minimal if any. Unfortunately for the rest of the universe, that is his office demeanor and one of the few instances where civility trumps his ethical requirement to tell people how much they suck.
Anytime he feels that speaking his mind won’t amount to potential unemployment, the man affectionately nicknamed ‘Gangster-san’ won’t pull his punches. He expects a certain unachievable degree of conduct from those around him and due to its elusiveness Soushi tends to be a rather frustrated individual who then takes it out on the underlings, competition and or inconsequential members of society. In no short terms will he spare feelings unless there is a decidedly good reason not to and those instances can vary and occasionally do not repeat themselves.
He’s a difficult person to get close to. There is a thick wall between himself and those around him that he doesn’t appreciate others breaching. Soushi seems wholeheartedly committed to the ‘lone wolf’ moniker in where he achieves his goals without assistance and operates as a singular unit; often doing more than his job requires in order to gain the desired result. Trust is an issue for him. It is something he doesn’t know how to give freely and without reservation because frankly he’s tired of being burned. It has to be wrestled from him sometimes; otherwise he’ll run himself into the ground with his method of doing things.
Of the more eccentric aspects of his personality though is something that everyone finds utterly contradictory to his overall self-image. Soushi is, in no uncertain terms, a bully. He throws his weight around and will intimidate staff if he believes there is something to gain in doing so. However, his bulldog attitude is effectively switched off when there is something to care for and protect. Despite his almost Yakuza-like gruffness, Soushi is frighteningly nurturing. Being that he is charged with looking after the well-being of young, starry-eyed idols, his focus is making sure they have what they need to succeed both on and off stage. Threats to them are not well-received to the point where he will even terrorize fans if he believes they are somehow dangerous. His protectiveness can be stifling at times but he genuinely means well.
Secondly he has a soft spot for cute things. He will deny it rabidly but handing him something as mundane as a button with little character on it turns him from attack dog to lap dog – minus the lap part.
Over time through steady interaction his attitude and belligerence lessens and he becomes something equivalent to a human being. His irritability is still present but the actual violent quality to him evaporates. He’s more approachable once he’s invested time, whether he wanted to or not, in getting to know those around him.
HISTORY: Growing up can be an awkward phase at the best of times but going through the trials and tribulations of adolescence and then adulthood while also being the eldest of three children can be downright nightmarish. For a man of Soushi’s renowned temperament, it’s a wonder how anyone in his household survived those not-so-tender years. However, it brings to light a few eccentricities in his personality that most can’t understand or aren’t permitted to know the reason behind as well as the aspects of his character that don’t match with his demeanor.
From the very beginning Soushi’s lifestyle was filled with lights and glittery things albeit, probably not in the same way you’re thinking. His parents had carved a home for themselves in Akihabara, the section of Tokyo that condensed Otaku, culture and the latest and greatest in technology.
His mother was a department sales woman and his father was a supervisor for a small production company based an hour south of Shinjuku. With both of them working full-time jobs child-rearing wasn’t always something that fit their schedules, not that they neglected him in any way. Soushi would usually have some sort of sitter or relative nearby who would care for him until his parents came home and they doted on him as much as they possibly could. He might have been, admittedly, a little bitter at them for not coming home early some nights or being unable to attend school functions, but as he grew older he understood that they were doing their best. So when his mother was pregnant and gave birth to Soushi’s little brother six years later, the new sibling had an extra set of eyes looking out for him.
At seven Soushi was fiercely independent and would strive to complete his tasks without assistance. His older relatives would come by regularly to watch his younger sibling and he would watch, assess and mimic their actions until he felt comfortable doing them on his own. Like with everything else he took to feeding, clothing, and bathing his little brother with the same dogged determination he was becoming known for. For him it was never a burden, just something that families did for each other. His parents were naturally proud of him and soon allowed Soushi to watch his sibling during the evenings once he’d come home from school.
Soushi was fourteen when his mother disclosed the news of her latest pregnancy. Soushi, at this time, was just transitioning from boyhood to teenager and his strong resemblance to his father was causing concern for them all. He’d always been a thick child but as he entered his growth spurts and filled out his pudginess was overcome by stature and the baby fat melted off into a strong, very masculine physique. He prided himself in his body of course but his rugged appearance and strict features made him look more like a gangster than anything else. It didn’t help that his red-hair seemed to attract all the wrong kinds of attention.
His highschool debut was swiftly followed by a fight with some of his upperclassmen who ‘just didn’t like the look of him.’ Soushi, unaccustomed to violence couldn’t compare. Unfortunately for them he wasn’t the sort to take things laying down and immediately signed himself up for the schools boxing club. His new height and weight made him a worthy candidate and within the span of six months easily dominated his age bracket. He had no desire to go pro and bluntly admitted he only wanted to learn the sport to beat people up, something that didn’t bode well with the coach who booted him off the team after catching him in a scuffle and putting holes in his would-be opponents.
He pursued other avenues of fighting, wrestling, aikido and even judo by his junior year, all the while going from ruthless fighter to homebody helping to raise his younger siblings and doing homework with them. Occasionally he fell into ‘mommy-mode’ where he even tried to take care of some of his more liked classmates which thoroughly unnerved his peers to have the class outcast trying to fix the buttons on their uniforms or offering snacks.
Graduation followed and Soushi was quick to attend college, taking courses in marketing and sales. He figured it was the most realistic thing he could do and it wasn’t as if he were a stranger to the venue thanks to his mother’s occupation. Afterward he learned just how wrong he was. At that point his people skills left much to be desired and his harsh attitude made him an unwanted candidate. He did however, have the smarts and he employed it in designing marketing ads.
Life in a cubicle granted him close contact with other people and while slow at first, he eventually picked up on how to not intimidate those around him. He worked this way for nearly four years before he felt a change of scenery was in order and pursued sales again, schmoozing and winning over companies looking for new products to incorporate into their businesses. He was successful but again, felt unfulfilled with his career path.
By some stroke of fate however one of his companies many promotional parties worked closely with GEM and they were interested in a few of his designer, all the more impressed by his bulldog way of getting work done. His success interested them enough to get his foot in the door so to speak. From there some minor projects occupied his time until the corporate office began planning out the future of their idol group and the managerial portion of the group’s future. The discussion to say the least was interesting as Soushi had never intended to look after a bunch of teenage girls but was nonetheless shoved into the position, but like everything else he took to it with time and hasn’t regretted it since.
APPEARANCE Despite the demands and responsibilities his position requires of him Soushi is no slouch when it comes to physical maintenance. It's something prevalent to his life as much as the well-being and care of his idols and exercises regularly. He doesn't work out to increase his muscle mass so much as to merely keep what he's got, which is taut, corded muscle without being bulky. Admittedly he should probably increase his regiment since he's outside of his suggested weight bracket but his schedule doesn't really allow for the change at the moment. Thankfully though, his stature helps in evening out the excess and it's not something that is noticed by those he works with. Typically he cuts his hair to just around his nape but during the fall and winter months he foregoes the ritual haircut and grows it long enough to touch his shoulders. Red-eyed, pale-skinned and strong features, he's very used to being seen as a frightening individual, something his harsh demeanor doesn't deter.
OTHER FEATURES He is very professional when it comes to accessorizing and doesn't go beyond having a watch on his left wrist or the small onyx neck piece that he wears. Scars isn't something he's a stranger to. Numerous fights have seen that he's got a few, particularly small white lines around his knuckles and a larger one on his right knee.

OTHER INFORMATION
TALENTS + SKILLS It's not a talent by any stretch but the skill is quite handy when dealing with those who do not speak the language. With English being a dominant in terms of spoken dialects, Soushi has taken the time to learn it. He is completely fluent and capable of translating as needed be it the written or spoken aspects of being bi-lingual.
Although he's never sought to complete courses in any fighting style, the rougher parts of his past have made him quite adept at street fighting. He implements aspects of boxing, aikido, judo and wrestling but is by no means proficient in one over the others.
ETCETERA Soushi has a dislike of sweets or convenience store food and will avoid it as much as possible. He is however quite capable in the kitchen and has no qualms with making food and providing it to his idols after practice so that they have a more balanced diet. Perhaps stranger than his culinary proficiency is the fact that he truly enjoys cooking and taking care of people. Soushi is also not a great fan of alcohol. He does drink if the occasional calls for it but usually won't do so of his own volition.
