rinko shiraishi as long as there's love, it's oki doki! general info
personality Rinko is very much an extrovert, friendly and outgoing and dramatic, sometimes to the point of annoying others. She likes to tease others for fun and has a child-like quality about her, but she is still a professional; sometimes that demands maturity and seriousness and she can most certainly deliver if the situation requires it, but all-in-all, Rinko is happy that her job requires her to have fun. Work can be tiring, but she is well-suited to the hectic idol life, being energetic and somewhat restless. She is generally very easy-going, but is not immune to irritation, hating to be ignored, to be out of attention when it's supposed to be on her...even if it was not intended to be personal, Rinko will probably take it personally. Rinko forgives (or in some case, tries to make it seem like she has), but never forgets. She is a little stubborn, but not unconvincible, and can give into things if the pressure is enough. She is persistent enough to practice her craft, but Rinko is still impatient, and often gets irritated after being unsuccessful in only a few attempts. Rinko tends to need encouragement to keep her going; at least as an idol, she has fans to help her with that. Still, she can be insecure, and often asks others for their opinion on various things, the majority of them very petty: do you think these socks go with my outfit? Should I get a crepe with ice cream or cheesecake? These eyelashes or those ones? Sometimes she doesn't even listen to their opinion and goes in the opposite direction in the end-- Rinko doesn't always know what she really wants. And sometimes there aren't even people around to help, so she's tries to be more decisive, though oftentimes those decisions take a little too long than it should. Rinko is loving, guided by emotion, feeling with her heart more than thinking with her head. She's idealistic, but believes that she's allowed to be, because she is an idol. Yes, the business has its realities, but sometimes she still feels like she's living a dream, like she's been given powers as an idol. And she intends to use them for good, behaving as well as she can in the public eye without sacrificing her playful demeanour-- it's all part of the idol charm. biography Rinko had a very average life for the most part. She was born in to a middle-class family: her father was an engineer while her mother worked at a department store, though she quit to raise her children in their early years; Rinko had a sister four years older, Yumi. She grew up in Fukuoka until she was six, which was when her family packed up to move to Shinjuku for her father's new work location. Yumi made a huge fuss over the move, having already made many friends at school, but Rinko hadn't even started elementary. Her home city, while not small by any means, felt very different to the atmosphere of Tokyo. Rinko loved the numerous buildings, the lights, the sea of people. She welcomed everything, and it was easy for her to adjust to her new home. Rinko began school the next month after the move and got along well with many of her classmates, given her friendy demeanour and outgoing attitude. At times she annoyed some of her peers due to her constant chattiness, sometimes even getting in trouble for speaking out of turn or too loud, though generally speaking, Rinko was well-behaved. Truthfully, she never had any deep interest in becoming an idol, though she did enjoy listening to various groups and admired the opportunities the members had, as well as their beauty. The closet thing Rinko had that was anything idol-like were her voice lessons, which began at 12. She had many family members who were musically inclined, and Rinko tried to play piano, violin, and various other instruments before nearly quitting music at all, until her sister suggested to try singing. Rinko liked karaoke, but never took it seriously, believing she wasn't very good at all. Even if it was true, she quickly gained skill and slowly started to build confidence lesson after lesson. Her teacher was kind but had a degree of strictness that would not discourage her learning. Rinko began to enter competitions when she was 13, and in her second contest, she placed third. With her winnings she bought dinner and cake to share with her family and friends, and her sister joked about Rinko becoming a famous singer. But no, becoming an idol was never anything Rinko looked forward to. In fact, she was waiting until she was old enough to join the ranks of the cute waitresses who worked in the maid cafes in Akihabara. Rinko became interested in gyaru culture and started collecting clothes and make-up that followed the current trends in the many fashion magazines she bought. Now a little older, she gained a little insight on the lives of idols, and not only admired their beauty and opportunities to travel to all sorts of places, but also admired their power as role models; Rinko now had a few favourite idols and looked up to them, aspiring to be as kind and polite and cute and sweet and everything she liked in idols. She collected merchandise and read every blog entry, watched every event and interview, saved money to see live shows. As a young teen, on weekend outings she may look like an idol, but she most certainly wasn't one. However, there was one singing contest she entered when she was 15 which changed that fact. After singing a few risky songs that hit many high notes, she won first place for the first time, and Rinko was overjoyed. When approached by a talent scout, she could hardly believe how lucky she was and thought the man was joking, so she accepted immediately. But he was telling the truth, and after being selected from the auditions, eventually Rinko became a GEM247 trainee to full-fledged member. A few years later, Rinko rose to the role as the new leader of the idol group. When she gave her speech at the first event as the new face of the group, she promised the fans that she'd work even harder to show her love for GEM247 and keep them on top. It's a lot of pressure and work being under the public eye as the leader of a very popular idol group, but she can't imagine doing anything else. | ooc info ☆ NAME Matcha ☆ OTHER CHARACTERS Hazuki Kajiwara, Rhiannon Desai, Ririka Morinaka ☆ FACE CLAIM {DANGAN RONPA} Junko Enoshima ● Rinko Shiraishi ☆ VOICE CLAIM YUKI, SOLO THIS CHARACTER BELONGS TO Matcha.
