PERSONALITY On the outside, Kentaro seems like a nice guy. He’s sweet, caring, extremely awkward and easily embarrassed, and kind. He’s almost always doing things for other people and would gladly sacrifice his own life to save another, especially his family. He is also quite intelligent, though nowhere near being classified as a “genius”. Kentaro is very hard-working and diligent. He practices almost every night and likes doing chores for other people. He has two siblings he loves very dearly, his twins sister Kyoko and his older brother Kyou, and an ex-girlfriend who he still adores to death, named Makoto.
But inside is hidden a dark and rather terrifying “monster” his family refers to as “Dark Kenchi”. This “Dark Kenchi” is Kentaro’s alter-ego and when he gets out, you’d better run for your life. Dark Kenchi is sarcastic, rude, cruel, and manipulative. He’s also a total pervert (only to Makoto, really), but that’s slightly irrelevant. Kentaro’s physical strength seems to increase when Dark Kenchi gets out, and he is more likely to punch you after a ridiculous comment.
While Kentaro can control Dark Kenchi for the most part, whenever you a) mention his parents,
make fun of his missing eye, c) insult his family, or d) make fun of/flirt with his ex-girlfriend, he will almost instantly lose control and likely punch you. Still, Kentaro is careful not to let people see this side of him and will usually warn his peers about what not to say around him.
When he’s calm, Kentaro is concerned more for the safety of others and is rather quiet. He is extremely mature, since he has to support two older siblings. He is quick to jump to the defense of another person and loves being with others, especially his siblings or his ex-girlfriend.
Speaking of Kentaro’s ex-girlfriend, whenever he is around her or if she is mentioned, one of two things will happen: he will either start daydreaming about dirty things or release Dark Kenchi, depending on what is said. He is fiercely protective of her even though they broke up. He is also still madly in love with her and sometimes finds himself ranting about how he is definitely going to marry her one day.
HISTORY Kentaro was heavily abused by his parents as a child. He used to have a sharp tongue and a flamboyant personality, but since this often caused him to get in trouble, he forced himself to develop a more refined and calm personality. This forced change and his hatred of his parents caused Dark Kenchi to be formed. His siblings were always around to try and look after him.
When Kentaro was around nine years old, his parents left him and his two siblings to go on a “business trip”. They left the children with their aunt. Kentaro, Kyoko, and Kyou all got along very well with their aunt. She taught them how to look after themselves, lessons which Kentaro in particular eagerly anticipated. When his brother Kyou turned nineteen and Kentaro and Kyoko were thirteen, they moved away from their aunt and used borrowed money to rent a relatively small house. A year later, Kyou took over as his sibling’s’ legal guardian.
Kentaro took up as many part-time jobs as he could handle to help provide income to his lazy sister and his scarily perverted brother. One day while singing to himself in the kitchen, Kyou noticed his talent and suggested he try to become an idol. After lots and lots (and lots and lots and lots) of pushing from his siblings, Kentaro agreed and allowed Kyou to sign him up for a small talent show coming up.
While practicing one day, Kenchi heard loud screams coming from Kyoko’s room. Worried, he ran upstairs and into her room to find her being sexually assaulted by a man he knew only as the husband of one of his employers. Dark Kenchi was released and he charged in to fight the man off. His attack was successful, but not before the enraged and definitely insane assaulter pulled out a pocketknife from his pocket and used it to gouge out Kentaro’s left eye. Kyoko quickly got him to a hospital after it was all over, and the doctors were able to stop the bleeding in time, though Kentaro would never be able to use the removed eye again (obviously). At first, he wasn’t afraid of the scar; he carried himself the same as he always had and didn’t let his lack of sight bother him. But the time came when the teasing of his classmates and the insults of the people around him got to him and he switched up his hairstyle to cover the missing eye.
It was around this time that he met Makoto. She was a rather disliked girl in his school, often teased for her tomboyishness and her far-less-than-gorgeous appearance. Still, Kentaro had always dreamed of being the kind of guy that could show love to a girl who knew none, and after spending a lot of time together, the two became boyfriend and girlfriend. To this day, any mention of Makoto, whether too negative or too positive, will unleash Dark Kenchi.
when kentaro became an idol, however, he had to break up with his precious girlfriend to avoid breaking the number one law. he still has feelings for her, however, and is often seen chatting casually with her on a phone when he isn't busy with other things.
APPEARANCE Kentaro has an athletic build, with broad shoulders, a somewhat large chest cavity, and balanced hips. He is rather tall and moderately thin. He has pale skin and deep blue eyes (or rather, eye), commonly called “azure”. His hair is chin-length, dark blue, and covers his left eye. When standing, his head tends to lean slightly to the left, maybe because he is so used to having to turn his head all the way to the left when trying to look at something out of sight. Despite his height, Kenchi’s hands and feet are smaller than that of the average man, and when compared to his sister Kyoko’s are only slightly bigger. Kentaro also has a rather young-looking face, with large, round eyes. When Dark Kenchi is unleashed, however, his eyes will close part-way, leaving them seeming much narrower, and his usual grin will be replaced with a smirk or a scowl, depending on what threw him into the mode in the first place.
COMMON WEAR Kentaro prefers to wear T-shirts and slightly-ripped jeans. He also has a sliver chain necklace he wears occasionally, particularly when attending something fancy.

TALENTS & SKILLS Kentaro is an extremely skilled kendo player and has a passion for pottery. He’s also very good at cooking and cleaning, since Kyoko is too lazy to do anything and Kyou is too busy constantly pursuing women who obviously don’t want him.

His soft, lilting vocals caught the attention of a representative of Simple Apple Studios, who invited him to take a look around the studio and maybe audition.
