That was the last of his time block. One final C7 chord to top it all off, leaving Youta a little surprised that he'd gotten any applause at all. Out in Akihabara, it could be hard to impress considering that most people's interests seemed to trend in the direction of the idol competition. The occasional recognition that he did get was quite nice, though not necessary at all. While he enjoyed performing to a lower degree, it was his job. Youta quickly gathered his belongings and then gently closed the lid of the black grand piano. It was a sleek and gorgeous instrument, something that he hoped to have for his own some day. However, he was also quite satisfied with the cherrywood stand-up piano that stood to the side of his living room. It played just fine, and it had been a gift anyways. Sometimes, he could get away with playing later into the night if he was careful to play softer. It was a little harder to dampen noise to that degree on a grand piano. He gave a nod to the café's manager. "Thanks for everything," Youta said to the man, who returned the nod. Tomorrow was pay-day, which he was admittedly looking forward to. The number of odd jobs that the pianist picked up in order to support himself was staggering. As a pianist, his hands were his most prized possession, yet he had no choice but to perform in tasks that did leave his fingers callused. Youta slipped his messenger bag over himself before quietly exiting the café with a quiet jingle of the glass entrance door's bell. Those who could afford it caught a train back into the main city, but Youta didn't quite have that luxury. He didn't mind walking; it was good exercise, and he enjoyed the view anyways. There were plenty of things that one could miss while traveling on public transportation. notes: @songbird sorry this is so late! I couldn't get the thread up until I got home.
