They always say to reach for the stars, but what happens when you finally grab one? Simple. you hold on for dear life. You grip it tight and try to pull yourself right up there with them.

PERSONALITY
Hotaru is an eccentric man, constantly moving around between hobbies and fandoms. With his strictly one track mind he has trouble focusing in on one thing a time. As such he often finds himself switching interests after but a short while. Unfortunately it goes a little bit further than simply growing bored of one thing and moving on to the next. He realized long ago that if he focuses on one thing for too long he quickly becomes obsessed with the subject. Only being able to focus on one thing at a time, it quickly becomes his sole subject focus, consuming his every thought. As one may expect this also leads to him having a rather addictive personality. While he may be a reasonably intelligent and clever individual he is severely lacking in wisdom and common sense. He never really puts his knowledge to good use, instead putting most of his effort into his often fruitless hobbies.
Despite all his faults, Hotaru is a very kind and genuine man. Provided it doesn't interfere with his current obsession, he is actually rather selfless. He prides himself on his honesty. Though it tends to waver in times of desperation, he can be usually be trusted with the little things. His flaky nature tends to get in the way of this, however, as he will easily be distracted if something he finds particularly interesting pops up. Above all, Hotaru is just a dorky guy. Excitable, easily amused by his own antics, and always itching to impress those around him. He sometimes comes off as indifferent towards people, sometimes brushing others off when they disturb him while he's trying to focus. But as soon as he realizes what he did, usually be being told, he scrambles to rectify the situation. If there is one thing he can't stand, it's having someone he cares about upset with him. Even when it's necessary, he still feels a gnawing guilt until he is forgiven.

If you can name a subject or hobby, Hotaru has probably dabbled in it at one point or another. From watercolor paintings to computer programming, odds are he had at least a somewhat minor obsession with them at one point. Granted these skills are very limited, as he likely only stuck with it for about a year at most. He also has an above average memory, allowing him to retain much of what he learned from his exploits.
Aside from that, he has very few natural talents. One could say he has a gift for gab, but that can end up being more annoying than beneficial. His only natural ability worth mentioning is his ability to catch things in his mouth. Really. That's it.

Hotaru has a weekly Idol news/gossip vlog called "Hot Stars! Hot News! Hotaru!" (Or HSHN) He's constantly trying to get exclusive interviews and footage of Idols to upload to his channel.By any means necessary. It's severely lacking in popularity, but he has made it his top priority to climb his way to the top.
Hotaru's actual job is as a morning radio dj at a small local station. His dj name is 'Hot Hot Hotaru'.
Constantly on the lookout for idols, he carries an audio recorder on his person at all times. Hoping to record them unawares, this recorder is always on just in case he stumbles across someone of interest.
Before getting a job as a radio dj Hotaru was the weatherman at a local news station for a small town not far from Tokyo. He was let go when they decided to bring in an actual meteorologist.
Since going whole hog with his vlog Hotaru has started saving up for a pair of glasses fitted with a small video camera. He's not even close.
Hotaru's apartment is filled with leftovers from his past interests. Model helicopters, trains, planes, and cars, mediocre art still hanging on the walls, and even a scale model of the Eiffel Tower made entriely of popsicle sticks.
Rather than driving a car like a normal person, Hotaru's favored means of transport is a small red motorized scooter. Don't worry, he always wears a helmet.
