IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT TO ME TO PUT OUT THE BEST SHOW I POSSIBLY CAN FOR EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTS OUR MUSIC. AS IDOLS WE HAVE TO WORK EXTRA HARD TO MAKE SURE THAT WE DON'T HOLD ANYTHING BACK FROM OUR FANS OR EACH OTHER.

PERSONALITY Kasumi has a lot of energy, which makes her seem kind of restless sometimes as she can easily be almost literally bouncing with it. She's always eager to pursue the next big goal or task, always throwing her all at a problem. Really she can get pretty over eager about anything if it seems important to herself or people who are important to her. When that's the case anything less than her very best isn't going to be sufficient. This can be seen in everything from how she sometimes bounces on stage during a performance to practicing endless hours in pursuit of getting a song or dance just right.
It would be reasonable to call Sasumi a perfectionist when it comes to all things idol. No matter the occasion she puts everything into it and expects the same kind of dedication out of her bandmates. As an idol in the premier group she feels the weight of responsibility to create perfect music for fans every single time. They deserve nothing less. She can become annoyed and upset when her bandmates don't live up to her lofty demands, until she eventually needs to let off steam. This typically takes the form of a solo karaoke power hour, a long jog or walk or a jam session with her instrument at home (or the studio if she doesn't think she can make it home before letting it loose).
Despite this she's actually worried that she's pushing people too hard sometimes. She treats her friends like siblings, wanting to look after them and help them do their best at whatever they're doing. Kasumi actually really needs companionship from others to the point that she gets very anxious when left alone. At her happiest around others, she's never overly rude about her demands that they push harder to get something perfect. In fact she's downright casual with those closest to her, dropping the use of honorifics except when it sounds cute. All as a way to make people feel as close to her as she can, which she hopes will foster the friendship she so desperately wants to create and maintain.
HISTORY From her days as a first year at Junior High School Kasumi has been musically inclined, having listened to every CD and record in her father's large collection twice over by then. She particularly liked anything with a good beat and would tap her fingers on the nearest solid surface in time with such songs. Her junior high school had a 'Modern Music Club', which was a glorified band, and she instantly joined with the dream of playing some catchy tunes. Though she'd never played before her dad bought her an electric guitar and she studied it far more thoroughly than any formal class. If she was going to play catchy music she had to get really good at the guitar - everyone would notice if the song didn't have a good guitar line! By the end of junior high she'd drifted between two official school band clubs and one comprised of local community members ranging from teenager to late 60s in age.
In her last year of junior high she joined the Light Music Club, which had previously been a pop music cover band. Under the influence of Kasumi and the lead singer it was transformed into a rock band which played a bit heavier music each concert. At some point they also started wearing monster-like costumes on stage to further stand out as a band. Then her push for them to practice nearly endless hours the week before a big cultural festival concert caused the band to fall apart. The lead singer had lost interest and stopped coming to club meetings. Kasumi countered by taking on singing duties herself.
Beyond that she studied singing and dancing as equally hard as her guitar skills, more so in the later days of her rock band tenure. Since she couldn't tap her fingers on something to the beat of her own music she developed a habit of tapping her feet instead or even bouncing in time to it. This has carried over to being an idol singer. Besides that she has a beloved pet dog and enjoys riding a bicycle when not doing idol things. Her family is a little unorthodox since she has a single father whose single sister lives in the home and helps pay bills as well as taking turns at cooking.
APPEARANCE Kasumi is about average in height for a girl in her late teens, with a nicely developed physique that can't help but aide her status as a well known idol. It's important to her to maintain a healthy build as an example to female fans, rather than striving for an extra slender look that might be harmful to maintain. Somehow she still comes off as cute and innocent despite looking like she could be a little older than she is. Her complexion is fair yet not overly pale since she does make a point of getting out during the summer to enjoy the sunny weather. The part of Japan she was born in is kind of overcast and wet most of the time, so it's important to take advantage of the sun when you get it. She likes to add a little bit of jewelry to accesorize most outfits, be it just a simple bracelet to go with that t-shirt or a nice necklace to accentuate a dress' neckline. That said her taste in jewelry is far less understated than her clothes, usually falling on the side of flashy costume jewelry more often than not. Comfort is important but she's also pretty modest and doesn't usually wear anything that doesn't go down past at least 3/4 of the way to the knee. A few weeks later Kasumi was given the opportunity to perform for the group's manager; knowing she was getting such a big chance (she'd been a fan of their music, which made it even more intense) Kasumi spent every night rehearsing a current Afternoon Delight song. Every dance move had to be just right, no amount of time was too much. The manager was impressed enough to offer her a chance to join the group on the spot, and she's been a member for the past four years doing mostly backup vocals and leading rehearsals when the manager was busy. Recently she was promoted to group leader, and she's dedicated herself to helping Afternoon Delight get back on top of the music world.

It was bought second-hand but stands out since she painted blue lightning flashes onto its balck body.
