MY BRAIN HAS CLAIMED
its glory over me i have a
good heart, albeit insane, condemn him to the infirmary.
Beep, beep, beep.
It was the loud, obnoxious, robotic sound of the alarm on the phone going off. Six thirty, the usual- but it never ceased to get Cobas in a bad mood who was woken up by such a device. Blurry vision welcoming him back into the world, away from the dream one. He hated having glasses but he simply couldn't live without them either, if he did- might as well deem him blind.
Giving a groggy groan, his hand fished around on the nearby table. It took a few moments but the hand soon landed on the pair of glasses, gripping them a little bit tightly as the man rolled over onto his back and sat up. Pulling the glasses to his face, he took a little bit of time to adjust them on his face so he could see properly. And of course, once that was settled, he turned off the annoying alarm- roughly the time he heard an annoyed groan next to him and feeling the bed shift from weight as the person next to him rolled onto his side.
Turning to watch, he noticed his brother fling his arms around Miso. A black lion- his albino lion still at the foot of the bed. That one's name was Abbas. Both prized possessions to Cobas, his favorite ones. But, his attention wasn't on them. More so the half-asleep man in his bed. It was Leo, his brother- they had a six year age gap between them with Cobas being thirty five and Leo being twenty nine. They acted as close siblings despite this.
"Ligesom et barn, der havde mareridt, igen," Cobas thought to himself. Leo would occasionally sneak into his home and curl up in his bed during the middle of the night. Just like when they were a kid and Leo had nightmares- he'd scamper to his big brothers side. But, this wasn't the reason for his presence. Leo was lower class, normally broke unless he stole which wasn't a rare occurrence with him being a kleptomaniac.
Cobas, however, was a billionaire like his parents. His parents who disowned Leo due to the multiple problems Leo had and didn't want apart of their family. It consisted of kleptomania, necrophilia, pyromania, and hypersexuality. Both of them already being sociopaths was something both the parent could handle- but not that. To them, that was a mess. Later leaving the island of Japan.
Despite the parents disowning, Cobas continued to help Leo. Buy him clothes, make sure he was fed, and had a place to stay when he needed it- after all, both of them were rather close. That also explained why Cobas went to bed with his lions and woke up with another man next to him. Leo slept out on the streets most of the time, but when it got to lonely, or cold, or the weather was bad- he'd sneak on in and curl up next to Cobas for a good nights rest. And of course, Cobas wouldn't mind it.
Stretching, he gave Leo a small pat on the head only to receive a little bit of a growl as he shifted a little bit. "Jeg vil lade dig sove i en lidt senere, men du skal være op af syv," Cobas promised the grumpy figure, giving a little chuckle at the nod. He wouldn't care if it wasn't for the maids, they always showed up at eight. They had to be out of the house so they could do their work. Herds of cattle on their land took care of feeding, having a steady herd who would be good for the time being. So feeding wasn't an issue.
At seven, the maids were back to do a little bit more cleaning and house work. They'd also collect their days pay- being a billionaire, he paid them by day before giving a check at the end of the month. The pay was normally just a bit of a tip for their hard work. Considering if it wasn't for them, then Cobas and Leo would have a lot of chores. Including making the bed which Cobas was getting up from.
Collecting clothes, piercings, and such, Cobas moved to the bathroom connected to their room and took a shower. Daily routine, daily routine. It was boring but, sometimes something happened during the day that made their lives more exciting.
After the shower, Cobas took to drying his hair while turning off the beeping alarm. Leo was now stirring, getting up a little after. Like always, he burrowed some clothes that belonged to Cobas and went to take a shower himself. Leo was such a quiet person during the mornings, but both of them were a little grumpy during the morning so it was better that way. Nothing a bit of food couldn't fix.
Taking the time to style his hair in the bedroom, having done it for so long that he could probably do it blindfolded- he waited for Leo who joined him shortly after. Taking to helping each other style their hair. Grunts and growls ensued when someone tug to much or the smell of hair spray became to much to someone senses, but it was a relatively calm atmosphere otherwise.
By the time that was all said and done, it was eight o'clock. Straightening his shirt and standing up, Leo doing the same a little after, Cobas left the bedroom. Abbas, Miso, and of course Leo, all following after. The house was pretty much a mansion but they could easily maneuver it. The maids would feed the domestic cats, dogs, snakes, and birds. As for them? They were headed into town. Tokyo to be exact.
Having made it to the bottom floor, Cobas opened the front door and they filed out. The last maid out would lock it later, so nothing to worry about. But not long after, a long black vehicle pulled up the drive way, bringing a small grin to the brothers faces. "Ah, lige til tiden," Leo hummed, Cobas giving a brief nod in agreement. It was a limo, Cobas and Leo not driving many places themselves. They normally did in the evening, and during the afternoon they walked everywhere- but during the morning? They were driven to town since they owned so much property.
Climbing into the back by themselves, Abbas and Miso found their seats before they did. It had been made clear to the one who drove them during the mornings that they were capable of opening the door and getting in themselves, having thanked the man for the gesture anyways.
That wasn't the only reason they didn't accept the gesture, the other reason being was for the fact there were two hungry lions. Normally Cobas and Leo didn't care for other humans but the driver helped them get places and was such a kind soul- so they naturally took pity on him. And the last reason being, Cobas and Leo didn't want to start speaking in Japanese so early either. That being the only language the driver knew, but the sixth language Cobas and Leo knew.
Their first five languages were of Scandinavian roots with the exception of Finnish, their native being Danish. Then came Japanese, and then English. Despite Japan and China's odd relationship, Cobas had thought of picking up Cantonese but never did. It had always been a nice place to visit, in his opinion- China that is.
"Everything is nice, isn't it?" Leo asked, transitioning to English. Always best if they practiced it. Yet Cobas wasn't sure what Leo was talking about until his line of vision followed Leo's- his brother was looking out at the nice morning scenery. "It is. Spring must be content this morning," Cobas answered, it had no signs of storm or rain and truly was nice. No, beautiful. For the entire car ride there, they looked out the window with the big cats.
As the nature scenery faded into city looks, their attention turned away from the windows not long before the limo jolted to a stop in front of an expensive looking diner. They knew where they were, so they didn't need to be told or question it. Simply, they got out of the car and went around back. Part of the perks of being of wealth? They could make friends with owners of places like this, avoid the customers, and place private orders.
Upon entering, the owner walked up to them and they proceeded to tell him what they came there for. Forty raw steaks, and two breakfast platters. It was a place where one had to eat inside, but slipping the owner a fifty, they got it to go. And of course, it was a long haul due to the food they ordered but they got it all into the limo, once they had paid and received it.
Twenty steaks to each lion was distributed before they started to eat their own meals. The limo driver could clear out their empty boxes later.
Pulling out two jewel embedded collars, and chain leashes, Cobas and Leo attached them to each lion before climbing out of the car. "Thank you, but we'll be walking for the rest of the day," Cobas called to the man driving as they got out of the car with the two beasts on a leash. Normally it'd be against the law but being a big cat handler, it was expected. Plus, with friends in higher power, it was tolerated.
Their footsteps made sounds as they went on a walk, terrified looks, exhilarated looks, bewildered looks- it was all there as the walked. Some reaching out to pet the magnificent beasts where others pulled away. Miso on the right side of Leo and Abbas on the left side of Cobas, the brother's shoulders touching. It was a wonderful walk in all truth, despite some questions being thrown at them or being stopped so someone could pet them. The breakfast had put them in a better mood by far.
"Cobas?" Leo suddenly questioned, taking a glance at his brother who looked back. They were at a cross roads, waiting for it to be okay to cross. "Yes, Leo?" Cobas questioned back, curiousness lacing his voice- wanting to know what Leo had to say. "What do you want to do today?" Leo asked, only to receive a small shrug in response. "Lets go to the mall then," The statement was firm.
"Yeah, sure," The man responded as the crossed the street, their straight direction changing as the turned down the side walk to their new destination. A mall would be a nice change of things, they could get new clothes, some accessories. Maybe even some piercings, not that they would but it was a possibility.
They could even converse more on the way- normally the brothers talked a lot more too. But, it was just one of those days where Cobas and Leo were a little groggy. In good moods, but groggy. And hey, everyone needed a break from one another at some point in time. However, it was highly unlikely that Leo and Cobas would ever separate. Mainly because all they had was each other, from the time they were little.
Even now, if one of them decided to date someone- Cobas and Leo would come as a bundle. Sometimes Cobas would take the person out, sometimes Leo would. Of course, this was why they never had a stable relationship with another person. Besides the fact that they preferred to keep people as a distance, dates just being something to entertain them as they say.
Anything and everything could be a plaything, something to entertain them before tossing it away. With the exception of Cobas's precious animals and his brother who always joined in on these things with him. Each adventure was something normally shared. It made people wonder if they were fiances, which they weren't- but it had been asked before. Thankfully, it wasn't asked often. More uncommon than anything.
