PERSONALITY Having taken care of himself from a young age, Shinya is most known to be a mature and thoughtful young man. He's the child most parents and elders would dream of having. Not only is he respectful to others, he is also extremely independent and reliable, and is good with helping others out. Because of his kindness and gentleness, he's often told that he makes a good "older brother" or even a "parent" figure to others, but he's also been called a worrywart on occasion as well.
Though he's usually pretty cool-headed, when push come to shove, Shinya can be even more ferocious than even his mother. Not exactly someone who is hot-headed, that doesn't mean he's not weak-willed either, and he's known to be stubborn to a fault. He's also the type of person to be impulsive when agitated, and he'll drop his usual calm and collected demeanor and act on his emotions instead. As a result, his rage can be more violent than others, and the strength he's built up from street dancing and parkour doesn't help that at all.
Despite seeming aloof most of the time, in reality, Shinya's just shy. He finds it a bit hard (not to mention troubling and not worth the effort) to let others know how he's really feeling, and consequently, he'll sometimes be easily flustered. He also isn't very fond of relying on others, and likes to keep his own issues to himself. Not one of many words or displays of emotion, Simple Apple has decided to use his distant attitude to market a "silent but cool" sort of idol.
HISTORY Kiryuu Shinya's birth did not come under happy circumstances. His mother, a Russian businesswoman with a cold disposition and his father, a kind and easygoing Japanese teacher, had originally planned to not have any children at all. Of course, accidents happen though, and Mrs. Kirillova (she had stubbornly kept her maiden name) eventually became pregnant with a child. Seeing as being pregnant and having a child would hinder her work, she wished to get an abortion, but Mr. Kiryuu eventually put his foot down. There would be no abortions made, and his wife would just have to bear with it.
And thus, Shinya was born.
Despite the fact that the boy was her son, Mrs. Kirillova wanted nothing to do with her child. (She even left the naming to him.) Leaving all the child-rearing business to her husband, she worked hard at her job and was eventually promoted to go work overseas. As a result, Shinya grew up without knowing the presence of a mother. His father, busy with his teaching job, passed him from wet nurse to wet nurse.
By the age of eight, Shinya was more than capable of taking care of himself. He walked himself to and from school, made his own clumsily-made bentos or just bought food from the convenience store. Most of all, he kept to himself, and when he got home after school, all he had to greet him was an empty house. Like this, his elementary and middle school days slowly passed by, a bundle of loneliness and convenience store food and bandages wrapped around his fingers like a girl's.
Upon nearing the end of his middle school days, Shinya was all but sick with his lonely lifestyle. He began to hang around the park near his home, where street dancers often congregated to practice or show off their moves. He also got really into gaming. With much practice and hard work, he soon became well-known in the street dance community as well as the gaming community for his dancing and gaming. By uploading his dances and pvp duels onto video sharing sites like Nico Nico Douga and Youtube, he somehow managed to gain some recognition from people all over under his alias, Makori.
Needless to say, when Shinya was in his second year of high school and turned in his career form with "pro gamer" and "single father" as his top choices, his parents (mostly his mother) were not happy. Though she hadn't cared what he did for the majority of his life, his mother had still hoped that he'd grow up to have a high-income job like her's was. Surprisingly enough, this career issue was enough to get her to come home for a few weeks. In those three weeks, she came up with an ingenious plan.
She'd make her son an idol.
APPEARANCE Being a child of mixed ethnicity, Shinya seems to have be blessed with the best of both parents. Being born to a Russian mother, he has inherited her exotic looks in his platinum blonde hair, striking violet eyes, and fairly pale skin. He's also got most of her facial structure, and his face often has a delicate and almost feline look to it. Relatively thick eyebrows, another gift from his mother, seem to offset this a little and give his face a hint of masculinity, but not by much.
His father didn't leave him with nothing though. Naturally wavy hair and a lean, lanky body all all things Shinya received from his father, not to mention his height. With his father being on the short side, but his mother on the taller, Shinya's somewhere in the middle, not too tall and not too short. Back that note about his leanness, even though he appears to be fairly skinny, he's not all just skin and bones. Underneath his skin is a hard, thin layer of muscle, and he's always prided himself to be the skinny but strong type. His feet tend to be on the small side though.
COMMON WEAR To sum it up in a word, Shinya dresses casually. Most of the time, when he's not being an idol, he's seen wearing whatever he grabbed from his closet that morning. This is usually a black tank-top with a random jersey jacket thrown over it. With that comes army green cargo pants tucked into an old pair of boots. (✦) When he has to dress for his idol job, there's not much of a difference between his way of dress. The only change is that he'll wear cooler looking t-shirts and oversized hoodies, sometimes with a beanie or a hat with his hood up. (✦) Other than that, just stuff he was told to wear, usually including a hat of some sort.
When it comes time for fancy, forget suits and ties, Shinya'll just go with straight pants and a nice jacket. A shirt, sometimes short-sleeved, and a pair of well-worn dress shoes accompanies this outfit. When dressing nice, all of Shinya's clothes are usually in dark or neutral colors. (✦)

TALENTS & SKILLS Having cooked his own meals from the time he was an elementary school student, Shinya excels at cooking, be it soup, desserts or anything else. Besides that, he's good at keeping things clean and doing household chores, so much so that he's been called a housewife before. He also has an aptitude for computers and electronic systems, especially video games, and he's good with his hands.
Though he doesn't think much of his singing skills, his dancing skills are something of a marvel. Strong and flexible, it doesn't take long for him to get a choreographed dance down well, and he often choreographs his own dances in his free time. He also used to play soccer, so he's quite fast on his feet. On a side note, he's tried parkour before too, and it can be said that he's not too bad at it.

A few weeks later, she caught him singing when he was out singing karaoke with a few friends, and after watching his dances online, she hatched a plan. After forcing him to attend a few singing lessons for a few months, she dragged him off to an Simple Apple's auditions, tricking him into thinking it was a competition of sorts.
Needless to say, Shinya was less than pleased when a phone call came in detailing how he'd passed the evaluation process and how his idol training would begin soon. It took a lot of encouragement and pleading from his father for the Russo-Japanese to finally agree to everything.

In short, he's on bad terms with his mother, and the two stalk around each other like arch enemies during the rare occasion she's at home. Also, despite being born a lefty, the blond was trained to use his right hand since he was young, resulting in his being ambidextrous. Beyond that, he prefers singing to fast-paced songs, including but not limited to rock, pop, and electronic dance music.
His stage name and alias came from a childhood friend (female, obviously) who took different readings of the kanji in his name, 霧生 真矢 (霧 is kiri for "ri" and 真 can be read as makoto for "mako") and combined them into a name she thought sounded "cute." At the time, Shinya couldn't be bothered with how cute his username sounded, since he just needed an in-game name fast, but in the end it grew on him and he began using it for everything online. When the name is taken, he often uses Mako3 as a substitute because 3 in English and/or Russian sounds a lot like "ri".
