PERSONALITY
It would be considered that Misaki is a surprisingly well-adjusted young man for having the upbringing that he has. Growing up under the limelight is never a principally undemanding task particularly because of the aftermath that can spell disaster for the young and privileged. But surprisingly, in spite of his rise to stardom and the harsh fallout that he endured because of it, Misaki is a rather level-headed, personable guy.
He has come to understand the populace better and how to identify social cues due to his time spent trying to invoke the public’s baser emotions through his character. People, whether they acknowledge it or not, are inherently intimidated by celebrities but it is something that is rarely felt in his presence on account of his behavior. In short order, Misaki acts like someone’s sugar-driven ten year old and it makes it virtually impossible to feel looked down upon by him. His bubbly countenance offers little resistence to his colleagues be they fresh talento’s debuting for the first time or veterans who expect a certain degree of respect from their younger cohorts. It makes him the perfect hype man, the person to gather and bring excitement wherever he is with his bouncy, slightly flamboyant showiness. He's something like a sales person in how his speech cant be incessant but still capture interest. His smooth-talking and charismatic attitude keep him well liked by his peers.
Because of his constant exposure to people both young and old and having to problem-solve and minimize confrontations, Misaki has become quite perceptive, almost eerily so in some instances. It can be a little unsettling how such an amenable boy can pick out the underlying tones of a situation in a silent, systematic process and denote the core issue with only a brief moment of exposure. That critical eye for detail has opened the window for higher thought and intelligent deliberation on how best to conduct himself around certain individuals to coax desired results from them. As someone once said, ‘If you know what the man wants, you know how to move him’ and to that respect knowing how to drag the responses from his costars into view of a camera makes him a powerful actor in his own right. Because to learn how to prompt emotions from those around you is a tool greatly appreciated in his profession.
But not everything can be all hunky-dory, right? Communicative and nurturing as he is there are still unsavory bits of his personality that warrant reasonable concern. Misak's seemingly unflappable smile isn’t inexhaustible and it can be more than a little strange to see the shifts in his demeanor. Sometimes his obnoxious happiness can flicker into almost spiteful intrusiveness. Having grown up in the business he’s had his share of bullying from fellow actors who disagree with his level of talent and in some ways that poor behavior has rubbed off on him. It also doesn’t help that his unstable family situation has amounted to a dangerous lack of supervision that has given him little in the way of personal restraints.
He’s now a very rowdy – if not purely irritable – partier, happy to hang out with celebrities of all avenues and drink until the sun comes up. His compulsive attitude hasn’t amounted to any serious discrepancies but it is only a matter of time before his negligence breeds real trouble.

OTHER INFORMATION
TALENTS & SKILLS It’s not exactly a talent he feels the need to share with the majority of people but it is a little known fact that Misaki is quite the proficient dancer – his area of focus being tap. It was a fixture in his early childhood and he’d found great enjoyment in the ability to perform two forms of art at the same time. Nowadays his love of Tap has dampened to something little better than a hobby, Kouhei still occasionally finds himself doing small rhythms when he’s bored or idling.
Now this isn’t much to be proud of but it’s a skill that has gotten him out of sticky situations when he was younger and he hasn’t exactly unlearned it. Misaki, as embarrassing as it is, can cry on demand. Like, full water works and gross sobbing included, entirely at will. It earned him the nicknamed Crybaby Misaki whenever he started balling his eyes out but being that he was undeniably adorable, getting what he wanted was easier to do when he threatened people with a tantrum.
ETCETERA Whether it had been something scheduled or an event that had occurred purely by chance, Misaki was born February 29th – a day that does not exist in the common year. It was during a leap year, two weeks earlier than his predicted due date and without complications outside of an early delivery. Later in life he would jokingly deny his physical age being one to follow the common year dates as the 29th only ever occurred every four years, effectively making him obscenely young.
His mother and father lived in the Kanto region and were successful in their respectful, if not slightly unfulfilling, careers. His mom was a Tokyo native while his dad had moved from one of the outer reaches of Hokkaido in his early adulthood to attend the college of his choice. Misaki then had the best of both worlds in a sense. He grew up assimilating to the hustle and bustle of city life and the constant arrangement of urban living while also having the pleasures of a countryside retreat in the form of the homes of his extended family that he would visit during long school breaks and holidays.
Life was simple and uncomplicated; his parents had high aspirations for him naturally but didn’t loom over him with their insistence. Nevertheless he sensed what they wanted and wouldn’t shirk his education more than any little boy might at his age. It wasn’t until he had turned five that things began to shift bit by bit.
His mother, while not a weak-willed individual by any regard was prone to feeling somewhat put down when among women of her age bracket. Having married young and had a child relatively early in life, her old friends were free of familial obligations. Those who weren’t would brag about their children – some more outlandishly than others – and it would make her feel as if she weren’t doing enough for her own. This seemingly minor complex drove her to prompt Misaki more often to study, make attempts for preparatory schools in the region that only accepted certain candidates.
Misaki, as intelligent and willing to reach new heights was, couldn’t make the cut. But his mom swiftly found an alternative in submitting him to casting calls for small businesses looking for children to promote new products be they clothes, toys or food. The first dozen or so were disappointing but Misaki strove to do better and while none of the official auditions he attended had turned into a success, one of the other companies noticed him and offered him a spot in a commercial.
A single commercial for a new flavor in ramune earned him a call back and another offer, and another and another after that. Misaki had starred in twelve commercials by the time he was nine and was intensely proud, having enjoyed the work at its core. His mother too was happy for his success, even if her initial intentions had not been completely pure. His father, while hesitant, saw the joy it brought his family and accepted it with ease.
After this his parents were contacted by a production company looking for a child to cast as the sibling to their protagonist in a drama, an opportunity his mother quickly snatched up. Misaki too was greatly invested at the prospect of appearing on television for more than a few minutes and enjoyed being on the set, rehearsing and the somewhat grueling work it took to become an actor.
The drama ‘Gakuen Life’ was a hit series, garnering the attention of teens and adults for two years before its conclusion. During the time it aired Misaki earned himself a small fanbase of his very own, winning the hearts with his eagerness and astute portrayal of ‘Satoru’ the main characters little brother. He was sad to see it end but was happy for all he’d experienced, choosing then that he wanted to continue acting if he could, an aspiration that would quickly devolve into an unfortunate battle for his family.
As with all fame and recognition, Misaki's stardom had caused the media to turn their camera’s in his direction even when not on set. They ferreted as much information about the child star and his family as legally possible (if it was illegal they swore it was from an anonymous tip). His mother enjoyed the attention for the most part but found that her ‘friends’ became distant, if not outright resentful of her son’s good fortune. In turn their children picked up on their behavior and similarly shunned Misaki who couldn’t understand why the kids in his class now cut him a wide berth. Worse Misaki was the impact it had on his father.
The country man was a very private individual from the start and didn’t appreciate the invasion caused by the media fanfare over his son’s sudden fame. What made him absolutely furious though was that Misaki's appointed manager, who usually received all the gifts and items fans intended for the young star, could do nothing to curb his wife’s sudden star struck fanbase. Misaki's mother was far from unattractive, it wasn’t unreasonable to think that she would be fixated on for a bit. Unfortunately the fanfare never left and men of all ages would send their love letters, gifts of affection and sometimes lewd pictures to their residence. It put an immediate strain on their family because she enjoyed the attention and did nothing to curb its volume and argued viciously with her husband over being too needy or controlling.
Their constant bickering came to the boiling point when Misaki was finishing another small appearance in a drama where his parents announced that they were moving apart and intended on divorcing. The boy of thirteen couldn’t understand how things had spiraled so far so quickly and had been torn and depressed when the ensuing custody battle further divided them. His father eventually won out and he moved with him to another district but was forcefully discouraged from pursuing his career in entertainment. And so Misaki effectively vanished from the entertainment hemisphere until his father fell ill from working constantly when the boy was sixteen.
He had been lackluster and troublesome, not to the extent where he would smear his reputation but enough to warrant the occasional parent-teacher conference. He wanted so badly to act again but he was also very hesitant to do so considering what had become of his family because of it. Still he knew what he wanted and he brought it to his father’s attention (as he had many times) and was refused. Misaki , desperate to be allowed to decide for himself what to do with his life regardless of bad experiences that had come and gone, gave his father a choice: he could support his decision in forming a career or he would file for emancipation and be considered a legal adult in the eyes of their country. It was a crushing blow to give his father such a choice but it got the desired result from a bitter man who no longer wanted to house him if this was the path he was going to choose.
As sad as he was that it had come to this, Misaki didn’t regret his choice and after a year managed to land his first real job since his estrangement from the tv world on a new show called Poptv. The show was geared toward all age demographics but particularly teenagers so they wanted a mildly familiar face to play the talk show host, Misaki couldn’t have come at a better time and they eagerly gave him a contract. He’s worked their ever since.
