It's almost Summer!

Hello everyone! I'm not dead!;;
^{I took a hiatus during the spring because of AP exams but then state testings came up and then last week, the SAT.}
But I'm back and well! I got out of school yesterday so I have a lot of time to invest towards this site now, hahaha. C:

Guide to Idols...

Matcha has been investing her time into creating a Guide to Idols for us! Thank you, Matcha! ^0^)/
She's still working on it but it covers a whole lot of topics that would be extremely helpful in getting to know the industry a lot better, providing inspiration for character development, plot ideas, and more!

Feel free to check it out! It's a good read so far and really insightful!

[GUIDE]

Events...

Hanami at Shinjuku Gyoen, the cherry blossom event, is still underway since it's still spring in the RP! It's a single thread event so hopefully all of the members can intermingle with each other and spark new relationships!

Anime Convention / Nico Nico ChoParty didn't happen because of business on my part. Sorry! D:
When summer rolls around, I was hoping to do a Summer Comiket idea? Comiket is more of a doujin event but I do believe that the idol groups would really shine there seeing as the two industries often overlap. I think that it would also be a really good opportunity for less popular members to be in the spotlight, as well!

Character-driven events?

The idea was brought up during the pre-spring idea thread and mentioned in the spring update thread. (:

I was thinking of giving members the ability to dictate what the groups did outside of site events and get a little creative. Like auditions, graduation ceremonies, PR events - anything, really!

^{I also thought the idea of releasing singles would be cute, too. I was already compiling a playlist for each group but that's just me getting ahead of myself .}

Whenever an idol group wants to host their own site event, they can send it to an admin for review and acceptance.

The site is still kind of small so I'm not sure how well it would go...

New board!
As mentioned before, I added new sub-boards!

Shinjuku Station - the world's busiest train station,
Kabukicho - Tokyo's most famous red-light district,
and Shinjuku Gyoen - Tokyo's largest park.

The recording studio and dance studio have also merged into individual sub-boards under the DVL Studio board.

Nice to have a few more boards for variety . I'm certainly up for a Comiket event - Yuki's a regular convention goer, so naturally she's on board!

As for character driven events, I think that's a good idea as well. That way members can be creative about their groups and do important things, while maintaining cohesion by having it reviewed and accepted first. I feel like players may be hesitant to do major events on their own otherwise for fear that they might just think 'oh, it's too much, and I don't know if the group would do that.' At least, I sometimes feel that way in general, not specifically here .

Comiket?! Hayato would definitely be up for that. Kimiko would probably go too just cause of the seiyuu thing. Ryoma...I'll try to stick him in there.

Yeah Comiket!! If I can't go in real life, I can live vicariously through my characters, haha. Rinko would definitely go, Ririka for the seiyuu business, and Hazuki might also cosplay and even sell stuff. 8) Which is to say that it's probably easy for many characters to get in on the event.

On a more helpful note, even if the numbers are small, I think it would be good to still allow events, at least. Of course it would work better with more people, as it would be hard if the idols didn't have very many fans visiting them. ;P Also, the playlists are cool, so please share them if you can. I'd like to add/discuss them too if that's okay!

By the way, I was wondering if there was some kind of coding plugin (if that's what they call it...) to allow certain kinds of coding to be used on the site? For example, templates with hovers or more "complicated" coding don't work. Do you know anything about that? Because sometimes I try to use some templates, but the coding breaks or only half works.

i've been meaning to post back sooner but i've been busy with getting things in order for the next school year, . sorry guys!

i've also been changing up a new skin that i liked since i'm in the mood of kinda cleaning things up on the site again, haha. i'll also been changing up the app in which the conversion would serve as a bit of an activity check. i hope that's okay with you guys. ;3; it's not long at all and tbh feels a bit more "idol-like" to me, hahaha.

also, i'm glad you all like the comiket idea! C:
i'll be sure to add that once the summer season rolls around, probably when the skin is done!
i'll also post a member event suggestion thread thing around that time, too, and see how well it works out. C:

so about the new them!
mini-profiles changed a bit but all of the information should have transferred.
new hover images are 230x400 if you want to change them!

there's also a new cbox hosted by chatango. it should work with sound but i think if it's empty for a while, it'll automatically disconnect.
let me know if you have any problems with it!

there were a few changes i wanted to make to the site but i suck at coding have no idea what i'm doing lmao.
for example, names showing up over the images in the banner and a tab thing similar to here so i can put all the in character / out of character / event updates 'n stuff. and a roster/play by??? or if there's a good template out there, please let me know! ;A;

I like the tab thing on that site -- I think a census addition is pretty good too, since I know a lot of people have asked if any type of member group was needed so they could think about what kind of character they wanted to make.

I'm totally up for helping out with whatever considering I tend to have this site open when I'm online anyway! Plus I just want to help the site in general since it's great. I've not coded specifically for Proboards but I'm sure there's a hover code you can somehow attach to the images if you look at codes that have image hovers?

PS: maybe you've not finalised it yet, but I looked at the app and maybe you can have placeholder images with the dimensions for the icons? Like I know it's 100x100 just by checking the image, but just in case people ask for it...XD And maybe a note saying that the bio doesn't have to be long since I'm sure people might see our converted apps and think that they have to write something really long to be accepted. An alternative I've seen is to have short apps, but have a board for threads where you can put as much info and details for your character as you like. It might be too complicated though, but yeah.

I tried to get the tabs on this site myself but I can only seem to get a button there that does nothing, hahaha. It has something to do with CSS which I don't fully understand yet. Same reason why I haven't been able to figure out the hover image yet, too. ;; Cin did it last time but it seems like she's MIA. orz
I would definitely be willing to add the census and that ban/needed thing that I have seen some sites with, lately. They would be really helpful with the site!

I've been trying to find some good play by/roster templates but it seems like a lot of people abandoned proboards for jcink after the v5 update, haha.

I updated the images with a placeholder and made the personality / history boxes scrollable so people can add as much or as little information as they'd like.
